BREAKING NEWS: Humberto damage minor to Jasper County

Jasper County Judge Mark Allen announced today, Sept. 13, that Evadale and Buna schools are closed, but that damage from Hurricane Humberto in Jasper county is not major.

“We've had no major flooding and no roads are closed at this time,” Allen said at 8:30 a.m. from the emergency command center in Buna.

Allen said a power line was down in precinct three, and gusting winds have caused deadfalls and other possible hazards, especially in the south part of the county.

“People should be aware of flooding concerns and be alert and cautious if they have to travel today,” Allen said.
