Students of the Week
Deonka McCray, a senior at Jasper High School has been named student of the week for Nov. 27-Dec. 1. "Deonka works very hard at her job as a Guidance Office student aide. She displays outstanding filing skills and always conducts herself in a professional manner. Deonka is a hardworking student that makes those around her happy by her contagious, positive personality," staff members Jennifer Herrington and Janetta Brewster said. McCray is the granddaugher of Arthur and Deonka McCray. Jasper Jr. High School Kelsey Murray, an eighth grade student at Jasper Junior High School, has been selected as student of the week for Nov. 27-Dec. 1. "Kelsey is the kind of student that teachers love to have in class," said teacher Kristen Smith. "She is enthusiastic, creative and she is always willing to help her peers." Murray enjoys spending her spare time playing soccer, volleyball and fishing. Her favorite subject is history.
She is the daughter of Darold and Teresa Murray, and Alan and Karen Tucker.
