Building a gingerbread house without all mess to clean up

The giant Gingerbread House design and construction marathon begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Martin Dies State Park. Survivors can join the holiday sing-along at 4 p.m.

Friends of the Park will supply all the provisions for making the stuff of holiday dreams, and you won't have to clean your kitchen afterwards.

Martin Dies park is located 11 miles west of Jasper off U.S. Highway 190 near Dam B.

Park rangers have Saturday programs Dec. 2, 9 and 16, including the popular Walk on the Wild Side guided nature hikes (insect repellent recommended).
