Pilot Club selling bulbs

The tree may be gone but a Jasper Pilot Club tradition is living on this year.

E a c h y e a r T h e P i l o t C l u b o f f e r s b u l b s for a d o n a - tion of $2, in memory of or in honor of loved ones.

The bulbs are placed on a memorial tree and lit in conjunction with the city's Christmas parade.

Although the tree fell victim to Hurricane Rita a year ago, a new tree was planted and the club will decorate with a string of lights.

"We will have lights even though Rita took our tree," said Dot Scheibe of the Pilot Club. "The tree is only three feet tall and we will only be able to put some twinkle lights on it this year until it g r o w s s o m e more. This was our way to keep the p r o j e c t going."

T h o s e wishing to have a bulb for a loved one should send the name of the person to Scheibe at 363 W. Houston, Jasper, 75951.

Specify whether the bulb is in honor or in memory of the person being honored, and be sure to give the donor's name.

Each bulb is $2 and checks may be made payable to The Pilot Club.
