Festival of Trees brings festive mood
     TREES ARE being decorated daily around the Jasper County Courthouse in preparation for the Festival of Trees.The event, which will be held Friday, Dec. 8, will kick off the Jasper Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce's annual parade.The theme for this year's parade is 'A Merry Texas Christmas.'

Deputies have young suspects in custody on log equipment damage
     Most of the young men who twice stole logging equipment and went on a rampage of destruction have been apprehended, according to Stacey Chambers, captain of investigations for the Jasper Sheriff's Office.
