Calvary Boys concert

Singing convention

The annual singing convention at Jasper will meet at Zion Hill Baptist Church Saturday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. and continue at 9:30 a.m. Sunday with dinner on the ground at noon Sunday. A few special groups will be present. For more information, call 384-8888.

Moore Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal will host their annual men and women's day program Sunday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m.

Fellowship service

Special concert

Greater Old Field Church of God in Christ will host Grammy award Gospel singers The Mighty Clouds of Joy of Los Angeles, Calif. on Friday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. Advance donation is $15; $18 at the door. For more information, call 423-4290.

Candlelight services

A special Christmas eve candlelight service of lessons and carols will be held at First Presbyterian Church at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24.

The First Baptist Church of Jasper now posts "The Compass" weekly bulletin online at www.fbcjaspertx.com.

Food pantry

Community Center Church of God in Christ of Call has opened a "Community Center Food Pantry" for Jasper and Newton Counties. It is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. To find out eligibility stop by or call the church at 423-6117. The food is free but donations are accepted. Spanish ministry

Tanglewood Baptist Church now sponsors a Hispanic Mission, Mission Bautista Calvario in Jasper. Worship services are held 9:45 a.m. Sunday mornings and Bible study and prayer services are Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. For more information call 384- 4727 or Enrique Perez at 489- 9417.
