Sounds of Christmas

Praise gathering

A 140-voice choir will perform a variety of Christmas and praise music at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Jasper Sunday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. Artist/songwriter Phil Cross and the Poet Voices from Nashville will be guest performers. Admission is free. Call Ray Mahaffey at 714- 6600 for more information.

Christmas dinner, play

Mt. Olive will host its Christmas dinner and play Dec. 20 at 6:30 p.m. On Dec. 25, Christmas services will be held at 10:45 a.m. with Rev. R. Norsworthy. On Dec. 31, a combined watching meeting will be held with Rev. Maurice Berry Jr.

Candlelight services

A special Christmas eve candlelight service of lessons and carols will be held at First Presbyterian Church at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24.

Food pantry

Community Center Church of God in Christ of Call has opened a "Community Center Food Pantry" for Jasper and Newton on Monday,

Spanish ministry

Men's breakfast
