Patel

Jasper High School

Ricky Patel, a senior at Jasper High School, has been named student of the week for Dec. 4-8.

"Senior class valedictorian Ricky deserves this recognition because he has come so far since his freshman year when he walked the campus with his head down, not speaking to anyone," said teacher Karen Cegielski.

"He always has been the top student in his class, but now he is becoming vocal in his classes and in the clubs he is a member of. Ricky will always come through for you, and he always goes beyond what you ask from him - this is why Ricky should be Student of Week."

Patel is the son of Asha and Ishvar Patel.

Jasper Jr High

Brittany Detwiler, a seventh grade student at Jasper Junior High School, has been selected as student of the week for Dec. 4- 8.

"Brittany is such a pleasure to have in class. She always has a positive attitude and wants to help everyone in class," said teacher Debbie Simmons. "She works hard on every assignment and enjoys making art. Brittany makes my job a little easier and the world a better place."

Detwiler

Detwiler enjoys reading, playing sports and attending church during her spare time. Her favorite subject is math.

She is the daughter of Mildred Dunn.
