Students of the Week
Dametra Harris, an eighth grade student at Jasper Junior High School, has been selected as student of the week for Dec. 11-15. “Dametra is a great art student. She works hard and always does her best on every project. I can always count on her to help out in class,” said teacher Debbie Simmons. “She looks forward to and gets excited about every new project. Dametra sets the standard for what I expect from my other students in Art II.” Harris sings in the West Lake Baptist church choir and enjoys attending school and participating in several sports. Her favorite subject is math. She is the granddaughter of Mary Bronson, the daughter of Kennedy Greer and the late Jeannie Harris. Jasper High School Marah Robinson has been named Jasper High School student of the week for Dec. 11-15. “Marah is the best Jasper High School has to offer. Marah has been a vital member of the yearbook/newspaper staff, working long hours and covering school events,” said teacher Sharon Atkins. “She is very responsible, and trustworthy. Marah is active in Student Council and maintains good grades while working at a bank. She deserves this recognition.”
