JHS play helps Parnell kids see meaning of Christmas

WHEN YOU ARE LOST and far from the north pole, it helps to have an angel guide you. Courtney Murchison is the angel to Brittany Boone’s elf in the play performed by the Jasper High School drama department for Parnell Elementary students today.
Poor Ernest. The lost little elf, who should be making toys for Santa right now, can’t find his way home until he learns “The True Meaning of Christmas.”

Students from Parnell Elementary School will attend a special assembly today, Dec. 13, at Jasper High School to see an original play written by drama teacher Kim Hines and performed by her students.

Ernest Seeker, played by Brittany Boone, is helped on his quest by an angel (Courtney Murchison) and a penguin (Krystian Bellomy), who give the elf clues to the riddle of Christmas.

Other cast members do double duty: Tiffany Rosenbaum as a mom, a nursing home resident and

a hobo; Jonathan Williams as a boy and a soup kitchen volunteer; and Brittany Duke as a nurse and a volunteer.
