Christmas dinner, play

Mt. Olive will host its Christmas dinner and play Dec. 20 at 6:30 p.m. On Dec. 25, Christmas services will be held at 10:45 a.m. with Rev. R. Norsworthy. On Dec. 31, a combined watching meeting will be held with Rev. Maurice Berry Jr.

Candlelight services

A special Christmas eve candlelight service of lessons and carols will be held at First Presbyterian Church at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24.

Christmas eve services

First United Methodist will host Christmas eve services of carols, communion and candlelighting at 5 and 7 p.m. The 5 p.m service will be tailored especially for children, with music, Bible stories and candlelighting. For more information, call 384-5735

Community service

A community candlelight service will be held at Curtis United Methdist Church on Christmas eve from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The church is located four miles west of Jasper on State Hwy. 63 at FM 777.

Lessons and carols

First Presbyterian Church, 740 Verna Street, will host a candlelight service of lessons and carols Sunday, Dec. 24, at 5 p.m.

Christmas services

Trinity Episcopal Church will host Christmas day services at 9 a.m. Dec. 25. This is a change from the midnight mass to a morning prayer service.

Spanish ministry

Tanglewood Baptist Church sponsors a Hispanic Mission, Mission Bautista Calvario in Jasper. Worship services are 9:45 a.m. Sunday mornings and Bible study and prayer services are Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. For more information call 384-4727 or Enrique Perez at 489-9417.

Men’s breakfast

First United Methodist Church hosts a men’s breakfast every Wednesday at 7 a.m. in the Frank Ealand Hall of the church. A home-style country breakfast is served along with a devotional message and prayer time. The breakfast costs $2. For more information, call 384-5735.
