Ratcliff to audition for All-State Choir Jasper High School sophomore choir member Marcie Ratcliff has attained at least one of her goals for this year. She will be auditioning for the Texas Music Educator’s All State Choir on Jan. 6. The third round of auditions was held Dec. 4, at Westbrook High School in Beaumont. Ratcliff was one of five students selected in the Soprano I section to advance to the state level. The state competition is for students from school of every classification, ranging from Class 1A-5A. “This is a real accomplishment that takes a lot of hard work, a great talent, and plenty of self-confidence to achieve,” said Martin Jones, JHS Choir Director. “The music they learn for these auditions is extremely difficult and is performed by many college choirs around the country and throughout the world.” |
