William J. Franks

Army Private William J. Franks graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

During training, he learned military ceremonies and courtesy, and received training in tactics, weapons and skills. Franks is the son of Marna Franks of Kirbyville.

Justin Hatton

Cadet Justin Hatton of Woodville was commissioned into the Navy in a ceremony at Texas A & M University Dec. 16.

In conjunction with the university's commencement exercises, Lt. Gen John Van Alstyne, commandant of the Corps of Cadets, commissioned 55 members into the armed forced.

Allison Meshell

Army Specialist Allison Meshell has graduated basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During training, she studied the Army mission, history and core values as well as practiced skills and fitness.

Meshell is the daughter of Raymond Meshell of U.S. Highway 96 South in Jasper.
