New Year’s party

The First Baptist Church of Jasper will hold a New Year’s Eve party Dec. 31 from 7-10 p.m. in the activity building. Gumbo will be provided; attendees are asked to bring a snack or dessert. The usual Wednesday night supper will not be held Dec. 27.

Watch Meeting

Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church will host the combined watch meeting Dec. 31 at 9:30 p.m. to see the new year begin. Maruice Berry Jr. and the Moore Chapel CME Church of Jasper will be special guests.

Round table

The First Presbyterian Church at 541 N. Peachtree in Jasper will hold a round table discussion Jan. 4 at 5:30 p.m. Topic for discussion is, “What’s religion got to do with sex?”

Food pantry

Community Center Church of God in Christ of Call has opened a

“Community Center Food Pantry” for Jasper and Newton on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. To find out eligibility stop by or call the church at 423- 6117or Milton Hughey at 423-4103 or Morris Hafford at 384-8781.

Spanish ministry

Tanglewood Baptist Church sponsors a Hispanic Mission, Mission Bautista Calvario in Jasper. Worship services are 9:45 a.m. Sunday mornings and Bible study and prayer services are Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. For more information call 384-4727 or Enrique Perez at 489- 9417.

Men’s breakfast

First United Methodist Church hosts a men’s breakfast every Wednesday at 7 a.m. in the Frank Ealand Hall of the church. A home-style country breakfast is served along with a devotional message and prayer time. The breakfast costs $2. For more information, call 384-5735.
