North Texas lawmaker campaigns to unseat current speaker

      A USTIN - When the Texas Legislature convenes Jan. 9, the 150 members of the Texas House of Representatives must choose who among them will preside as speaker. Incumbent Speaker Tom Craddick, R-Midland, will need 76 votes — 50 percent of 150, plus one - to retain his office.
