Former Jasper grad in charge of benefit for Tx Children’s Hospital

Jeff Burrell, 1985 graduate of Jasper High School, has set a goal of $50,000 for the third annual Initial Marathon Sacrifice benefiting Texas Children’s Hospital.

Burrell began working for Texas Children’s Hospital as a volunteer and is now president elect of the hospital auxiliary. He is the son of James Burrell and former Jasper County Treasurer Mary Jane Hancock. The marathon is held in

conjunction with the Chevron Houston Marathon Jan. 14. According to a press release, “Individuals who have never participated in a marathon make a significant sacrifice by successfully completing the marathon, just as patients in Texas Children’s Hospital sacrifice every day.”
