Norman David Bryant, 51, of Burkeville died Dec. 22 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Private memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, in Leesville, La. under the direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home of Jasper.

Survivors include sisters Laurel Sweeney of Lessville and Dawn, Carrie Hedley and Colleen, all of North Little Rock, Ark., and brother Dennis Bryant of Leesville.

D.W. Carnline

D.W. Carnline, 79, of Jasper died Dec. 27 at Timberlake Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were held Dec. 29 at Forest Oaks Funeral Home, with burial following at Zion Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include wife Rose Mary Carnline of Jasper; mother Odie Gibbons of Mauriceville; daughters Sherryll Rule of Kirbyville and Cathy Chaney-Wiseman of Lufkin; sons Johnny Carnline and Larry Carnline, both of Jasper; brothers Charles Carnline of Zavalla and Carl Gibbons Jr. of Mauriceville; sisters Shirley Clemmons of Mauriceville, Verna Harrison of Vidor and Helen Wallace of Orange; 16 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren.

Inez Pecola Cofty Durand

Inez Pecola Cofty Durand, 88, of Jasper died Dec. 27 at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Dec. 30 at the Call Pentecostal Church, with burial following at the Kyle Hill Cemetery in Roganville under the direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home.

Survivors include daughters Elaine Nimmo of Jasper and Earline Duran Burks of Livingston; sisters Mary Martin of Kirbyville, Pauline Warren of Orange and Billie Nash of Kirbyville; 12 grandchildren, 24 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Betty Jo Gilley

Betty Jo Gilley, 63, of Jasper died Dec. 21 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont.

Funeral services were held Dec. 23 at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville, with burial following at Bean Cemetery.

Survivors include husband Elmer Lee Gilley of Jasper; sons Neal Gilley and Thomas Gilley, both of Jasper, and Hershel Gilley of

Texarkana; brother James Hinson of Logansport, La.; sisters Lucille Lewis of Houston, Joyce Groze of Warren and Helen Gilley of Nilaud, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

James Edward Hinson

James Edward Hinson, 73, of Logansport, La. died Dec. 28 in the Shreveport V.A. Hospital.

Graveside services were held Jan. 1 at Bean Cemetery in Kirbyville under the direction of E.E.Stringer Funeral Home.

Survivors include daughters Melda Hart of Boerne and Teresa Burns of Fredricksburg; sister Lucille Dodds of Houston; half-sisters Helen Sue Gilley of California and Joyce Groze of Kountze; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Constance J. Holmes, 75, of Jasper died Dec. 29 at M.D. Anderson Hospital.

Funeral services were held Jan. 1 at Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home, with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery.

Survivors include husband Wendell “Sleepy” Holmes of Jasper; son Bubba Miller or Merryville; daughters Deborah Dianne Williams and Sandy Pence, both of Merryville, Helen Garris of DeRidder, La., and Pam Hooper of Byron, Ga.; brother Clifford Rachall of Lake Charles, La.; sister Delores Phillips of Michigan; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Harold Gene Lackey, 72, of Jasper died Dec. 23 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral services were held Dec. 27 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial following at Davis Cemetery in Beulah Springs under the direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home.

Survivors include wife Betty Jo Lackey of Jasper; son Chris Lackey of Jasper; daughters Cecilia Floyd and Cindy Stephenson, both of Jasper; sisters Geraldine Sims of Jasper and Doris Vaulner of Kirbyville; and six grandchildren.

Amanda Diane Pendino, 31, of Jasper died Dec. 24 near Kirbyville.

Jonathan Lewis Vann

Jonathan Lewis Vann, 25, of Erin died Dec. 27 near Jasper.

Survivors include parents Nelda and Eugene “Bubba” Vann of Erin; brother Michael Vann of Jasper; sister Amanda Marshall of Doucette and grandmother Edwina Vann of Erin.

Perry L. Walker, 67, of Dayton, died at home Dec. 25.
