East Texas Regional Art Center hosts show

The East Texas Regional Art Center opened a new membership show Sunday, Jan. 16. The show will run through Feb. 16 and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday and on Saturday by appointment.

Louise Townsend won first place; Carole Gilchrist, second; and Tina Barrow, third.

Works include watercolor, oil, pastels, acrylics, and three dimensional pieces by area artists.

The arts center, located at 364 North Austin, will host the following eight-week class sessions in February and March: advanced pastel portraits, instructor Jean Humphrey; clay, instructor Deborrah Simmons; and perspective drawing, instructor Tommy Humphrey.
