Annual chamber banquet honors local celebrities

The 88th annual Jasper/Lake Sam Rayburn Chamber of Commerce awards banquet will be held Friday, Jan. 26, at Wesley Center in Jasper.

This year the theme is presidential inauguration, according to membership director Khristina Hanel. Tables for eight are available at the following sponsorship levels:

Lyndon B. Johnson table, $250 Abraham Lincoln table, $500

George Washington table, $1,000

Individuals may also purchase tickets for $25 at the chamber office at 246 E. Milam Street in Jasper.

Outgoing chair person Molly Thacker and incoming chair Dick White will give "state of the chamber" addresses, followed by the annual awards ceremony. Recognition will be given to young person of the year, newcomer of the year, citizen, business and chamber member of the year, and a special salute to a home town hero.
