Recycling efforts benefit schools Recycle, recycle, recycle. The Jasper Beautiful campaign has placed barrels and boxes at Rowe and Jasper Junior High for aluminum can recycling. Money from the sale of the cans will go back into the schools' activity funds. Coordinator Patty Shaw reported 16 bags of roadside garbage were picked up the week of Jan. 20-27. In addition, Joan Damrel cleaned up the city cemetery and Vicki Grindstaff assisted with clean-ups in the southern part of the county. More volunteers are needed for projects planned by the committee. To donate time or to find out where and what you can recycle, call Shaw at 384-6760. |
