Board finalizes second tier of block grants

The Deep East Texas Council of Governments (DETCOG) Board has finalized the allocation of a second tier of Hurricane Relief Social Services Block Grants.

The board approved an additional $1,058,038 for agencies that were providing hurricane relief social services prior to and immediately following Hurricane Rita and/or Katrina.

DETCOG's distribution plan will now go to the State Health and Human Services Commission for their final approval before any funds are released.
