Powerlifters capture second place at Livingston meet Jasper boys power-lifting team took second place overall at the Livingston meet this past weekend. Travon Limbrick placed first in the 132 class with a total of 1,105. He captured the light platform outstanding lifter award and also set a meet record on the squat with a lift of 460 and on deadlift with a lift of 435. Raymond Hafford was first in the 242 class with a total of 1,330; Marques Johnson was second with a total of 1,290. Jomar Cauley took second in the SHW class with a total of 1,530. He also set a meet record on the bench press with a lift of 405. Mike Crowell came in fourth in the 220. His total was 1,200. Fred Jackson also placed fourth. He had a lift of 1,115 in the 181 class. Trae Horn was fifth in the 198 with 1,205 pounds. Steven Shives was seventh in the SHW class with a total of 1,120. Cordero Rawls placed seventh in the 165 class with a total of a 1,000. Carlos Carter and David Beck assisted their teammates at the meet. The team will compete in Tarkington Feb. 17 and then on Feb. 24 they will go to the regional qualifier in Woodville. The top 10 lifters in each weight class will advance to regionals in Kirbyville, March 10. The girls team also competed at Livingston. Kimonya Lee tied for sec- ond place in the 198 class with a total of 735. Jaleesa Johnson and Tiffany Rosenbaum finished fifth in their weigh classes. Johnson had a total of 605 in the 148 and Rosenbaum lifted 445 in the 114. Other participants were Chanel Lewis, Brianna Lee, Clementine Johnson and Brandy Goff. This was Johnson and Goff's first meet of the season. |
