Black heritage

Faith Temple Church of God in Christ will host their annual Black History program, "Celebrating our Black Heritage," Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. Old-fashioned dinner will be served.

Mission workshop

Greater New Bethel Baptist Church will conclude their annual mission institute workshop tonight, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. Renee Cauley Hadnot will present the Bible lesson.

Ash Wednesday service

The Service of Imposition of Ashes and Holy Eucharist will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m.

Coleman Canteen

The First Presbyterian Church on Verna Street will hold Coleman Canteen, a Friday night social, Feb. 23 from 5-9 p.m. The event features dinner, Mexican train dominoes, card games, chess, a movie and Christian fellowship.

Ladies retreat

First Baptist Church of Jasper will hold a ladies prayer retreat Feb. 23-24 at the East Texas Baptist encampment. The program "Live the Call" and will feature speakers and special interest sessions.

Black history banquet

Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist will host a Black history banquet Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. The theme for the banquet will be "Together We can make a difference." Sherida Barnes, principal of J.H. Rowe Intermediate, will be the guest speaker.

Motivational speakers

New Bethel Baptist Church concludes a celebration of Black History month with Delora Coleman Leach speaking Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. on "Our Heritage- What are we teaching our children," and a black history play by Ladora Coleman-Boatner, "Educating Generation X," will be performed at 6 p.m.

Gumbo sale

The Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate their Black history program Feb. 25 at 3 p.m.

Round table group

Spiritual workshop

First Presbyterian Church in Jasper will conduct a workshop entitled "Spiritually Vibrant Disciples" March 3 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Coleman Hall on Verna Street. Mary Marcotte, a Christian educator from Houston will facilitate, and lunch will be served.

Rummage sale

Trinity Baptist Church on U.S. Highway 96 north will host a rummage sale March 3 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sale is sponsored by Women on Mission.

Annual musical

The First Church of God In Christ, 1425 Rowe Street, will celebrate its annual musical March 4 at 3 p.m.
