Walking the halls

You are welcome once more to walk the halls of Jasper Junior High School. Many things have happened since the last time we walked.

We had a successful basketball season; our boys and girls ranked well in our district. We had the pleasure of listening to our junior high choir when they performed their winter concert. Several students participated in the UIL solo contest winning a number of excellent and superior ratings.

Our junior high band honored us with a performance during their winter concert in December. They, too, participated in the regional UIL contest winning honors.

Above all, we are engaged in preparing our students for the up-coming TAKS test in writing. Our students have been working hard in order to do well on the test. By the time you read this, they will have completed the first part of TAKS test requirements.

We have started our TAKS tutorials in the other subject areas to be tested in April. We ask that you help us by encouraging your student to participate in these TAKS tutorials. To help your student pass the TAKS is our deepest concern.

On Feb. 26, we will be having our second parent conference day. Please mark your calendar, and give us a call to set up a conference with your son/daughter's teacher.
