Students of the week
Danterio Anderson is Jasper High School's student of the week Feb. 19- 23. "Danterio Anderson is an enthusiastic student who brings the same energy he expends in sports to class as well. Danterio's ready smile and desire to learn add zest to the environment of his class. Though Danterio has a great sense of humor, he knows when to be serious and cares about doing his best academically, as well as in sports. Not only is Danterio an enthusiastic student, but he is also an exceptional athlete and a talented musician. An avid member of the cross country track team, Danterio felt the loss of Coach Lloyd Weatherspoon very peresonally and took it upon himself to challenge and uplift his teammates in the days that followed the loss of their coach. He also has been a vital part of the Bulldog Band as well as the high school basketball team. Jasper High School is a better school because of students like Danterio, who willingly take on the role of positive leadership when most needed," said recommending teacher Becky French. Anderson is the son of Dana Anderson.
Kendal Parrish, a seventh grade student at Jasper Junior High School, is student of the week for Feb. 19-23. "Kendal is an exceptional student to have in class. She always completes her assignments and I never have to ask her to be quiet or pay attention in class. Not only is she quiet, she is always respectful of others, especially her teacher," said teacher Beverly Dark. "Kendal is a pleasure and I see great success in her future." Parrish is a Jasper Junior High twirler and enjoys riding horses and reading during her spare time. Her favorite subject is Spanish. She is the daughter of Ron and Lori Barnett. |
