Parnell celebrates Black History Month

Parnell Elementary School celebrated Black History Month with a program coordinated by third grade social studies teacher Phyllis Martin.

Parnell Choir members Phyllis Martin, Linda Collins, Celinda McClelland, Elwanda Weatherspoon, Carrie Shelby and Mamie Cooper sang "The Black National Anthem."

Six community members addressed the assembly on setting goals and how to be successful in life. They were Mary Williams, R.C. Horn, John Hardin, Rodney Norsworthy, Dr. Willie Brown and Willie McFarland.
