FFA booster club off and running

The new Future Farmers of America (FFA) booster club held its first fundraiser by running the concession stand at the Winter Bash livestock show this past weekend.

Charla James says, "There has always been a band booster and (sports) booster clubs... so this year we have formed an FFA booster club to help students with scholarships and eventually with other expenses that come with travel in competitions."

The FFA boosters meet the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Jasper High School career and technology building.

Their next fundraiser will be a garage sale March 24 at the high school bus pick up area. They are currently accepting donations of the usual garage sale items, and asking in particular for donations of items related to farming and raising animals.
