Style show

Jasper High School will hold a style show to benefit the Junior-Senior prom at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, in the JHS auditorium. Admission is $3.

Beginning genealogy

The Tyrrell Historical Library in Beaumont will offer two classes on tracing your family tree. Ednita Wilcox Lane's series of six Saturday lectures runs Feb. 24-March 31 from 2-4 p.m. Jimmy McLane teaches an internet genealogy class the last Tuesday of every month from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Classes are free but an RSVP is requested. Free screenings

The East Texas Health Access Network (ETHAN) will offer free cholesterol and blood pressure screenings every Wednesday in February from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at 117 W. Houston St. For directions of more information call 384-2099.

$10,000 Visa card

Jasper High School's Project Graduation is selling a limited number (300) of tickets for a $10,000 Visa card to be drawn April 15. they also have a few 2007 discount cards and a lifetime hunting and fishing licenses. Call JHS at 384- 3242.

Retired federal employees

The Silsbee-Jasper chapter 1319 of the National Association of Retired Federal and Current Federal Employees will meet for a sack lunch Feb. 21 at 11 a.m. in Silsbee at St. Mark's Catholic Eductional Building.

Safety seat inspection

Free child safety seat inspections will take place Thursday, Feb. 22 from 2:30-5 p.m. at Jasper City Hall. The inspection is courtesy the Texas Cooperative county extension agents.

Art exhibition

Lakes Area Hospice will host an art exhibition featuring the art of East Texas and friends of hospice. The exhibition will be Thursday, Feb. 22 from 1:30-4 p.m. in the lower lobby and east room of the Lakes Area Hospice house on 254 Ethel. Call 384-5995 for more information.

Square dance reunion

Art exhibit

First United Methodist Church Spotlight Productions will host "The Works of Our Hands" exhibit Saturday, Feb. 24, and Sunday, Feb. 25. Artists will be on hand Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon and on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Admission is free.

Spoon River Anthology

Edgar Lee Master's play "Spoon River Anthology," a story of small town life, is being performed Feb. 23-24 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. at Woodville's Eagle Summit. Tickets available at the door. Call 409-283- 2788 for more information.

Beautiful: NEW DATE

The Keep Jasper Beautiful campaign has been postponed to March 1 at 10 a.m. at the Woman's Civic Club building at 156 W. Milam to discuss future cleanups and recycling. For more infromation, call Patty Shaw at 384-6760.

Miss Burkeville
