JHS automotive students going to state competition

TWO JHS JUNIORS will advance to state competition in Corpus Christi the end of March. Leonard Johnston (above) and Chris Guardian (right) brought home blue ribbons from the Texas Skill District 7 contest for their work overhauling carburetors.
Two of the Jasper High School students from Mike Gerard's automotive careers class who attended the Texas Skill District 7 contest earned blue ribbons and will advance to the state contest to be held March 28-30 in Corpus Christi.

Juniors Leonard Johnston and Chris Guardian entered carburetor projects. Johnston overhauled a standard Rochester Quadrajet while Guardian overhauled a computer-controlled Rochester Quad.

Junior Tyler Dooley also participated in the contest held at Lamar Institute of Technology. Freshman Dustin Wagstaff and junior Marco Mijares also completed major classroom projects but did not enter the district competition.
