Scouts Arrow of Light awarded to Tvrz, Persons, Raymond

Three boys from Cub Scout Pack 632 received the Arrow of Light award, the highest award a cub scout can receive, according to scout leader Lloyd Persons. They are Joseph Tvrz, Coley Persons and Christopher Raymond.

More than 180 people attended the Blue and Gold banquet held at Wesley Center last week.

Guest speaker Robbie Lovett, owner of Elijah's Cafe, was presented with a special award for outstanding community service.

Almost 30 cakes designed by scouts were judged and auctioned off. The theme was "Aloha" and cakes resembled surfboards, islands, fish, volcanoes and roast pigs with apples in their mouth.

Six boys "crossed over" from cub scouts to boy scouts, along with scout leader Lloyd Persons, who will be replaced in cub scouts by Carry Bowers.
