Correct 911 addresses save lives

In an emergency, every minute counts. To simplify confusing rural addresses for first responders, Jasper County should have adopted 9-1-1 addresses by now, but many country people still use their old address.

The Texas uniform 9-1-1 address represents how far you are from the beginning of your road. For instance, an address of 337 County Road 091 says you are 1/3 of a mile (.337 rounded up) from the beginning of that road. Numbers should be posted where they are clearly visible from the road or street.
