Lady Dogs fall to Kirbyville

      The Jasper Lady Bulldog softball team lost their district opener 7-6 to Kirbyville Tuesday, Feb. 27. However, they came back to take third place consolation in the Center tournament over the weekend. Two weeks ago Jasper placed second in the Beaumont tournament.

      The Jasper Lady Bulldog soccer team defeated Center 1-0 Tuesday and fell to Palestine 4-1 Friday. "Jasper dominated the time of possession but because of outstanding play by the Center goalie, was turned away after deep penetrations often during the first half," coach Ron Vickers said.

Lee places fifth in all divisions at Region IV

      Kimonya Lee placed fifth in all divisions of the 198-pound weight class at the Region IV Power-Lifting last weekend at Westside High School, qualifying her for the T.H.S.W.P.A. State meet in Killeen, March 16. Her total lift was 800 pounds, a personal best for her.
