Class helps new homebuyers

The Deep East Texas Regional Housing Agency will be holding a homebuyer's education class Saturday, March 10.

The workshop for future homebuyers is designed for HUD Section 8 homeownership applicants and has valuable information for all first-time homebuyers.

The 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. class will be held in the conference room at the Deep East Texas Council of Governments office at 210 Premier Drive behind Lowe's.

The curriculum covers assessing your readiness to buy a home, selecting a home, budgeting and credit, maintaining a home and finances.

A certificate of completion will be given to each participant, Certificate recipients may be eligible for down payment and closing cost assistance. The Homebuyer's Education Handbook costs $25.
