Kibyville man arrested for sexual assault

Donnie Morris Creed, 33, of Kirbyville was arrested for aggravated sexual assault of a child when he turned himself in Feb. 28.

The 10-year-old girl reported the assault to a school counselor, who brought Kirbyville school resource officer Aaron Tippett into the investigation.

Tippett said once he determined the assault happened in the county, he alerted the sheriff's department.

When Creed learned he was under investigation, he hired an attorney and turned himself in. He was held on $50,000 bond until March 2 when he made bail and was released.

The girl has been placed by Child Protective Services, according to Sheriff's Deputy Stacey Chambers.
