Rodeo parade theme 'Back in the Saddle'

The Jasper Lions Club has announced their theme for the Jasper Lions Club Rodeo Parade this year will be "Back in the Saddle Again,"according to parade chair Lloyd Persons.

"It was in 1939, when the Singing Cowboy Gene Autry first released the classic song by the same name. This was just one year after the Jasper Lions Club was first chartered in Jasper," Persons said.

The rodeo parade will kick-off the 61st Annual Jasper Lions Club Rodeo May 9-12. The parade will be May 9 at 5 p.m. Entry forms are now available at the offices of the Jasper Lake Sam Rayburn Chamber of Commerce at 246 E. Milam. Deadline is no later than Friday, April 27.
