Women's Conference plans progressing for March 31 in Jasper

Plans for The Women's Non-Denominational Community Conference are shaping up nicely, according to organizer Maria Luisa Edwards.

"Our goal is to bring the Jasper community of women together in spirituality and to explore women's role today," said Dr. Willie Brown, one of the speakers.

Christy Lancaster said, "women of different religions can come together to share with one another."

Darlene Nolen, president of the Jasper Woman's Civic Club, said, "Volunteerism is the foundation of every community event. Every woman has a gift to give their community."

Spanish translators will be Maria Luisa Edwards and Norberta Gonzales.

The conference will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Parish Hall Saturday, March 31, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Baby-sitting will be available for ages 4-8. Pre-registration price is $10 or $12 at the door. For more information, call 383-1412 or 698-9496.
