Kiwanis Club announces annual Miss Jasper scholarship pageant

The Jasper Kiwanis Club will sponsor the 43rd Annual Miss Jasper Scholarship Pageant on Saturday, June 9, at 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church Wesley Center.

Registration packets are available now at Arc & Sparkle Boutique on Kelly Street for young ladies interested in competing in one of the following categories: Little Miss, ages 4-6 (as of June 9, 2007), Young Miss, Grades 5-8, Miss Teen, Grades 9-11, and Miss Jasper for JHS Seniors through full-time college students to age 21. All contestants must be residents of JISD and grade as of Fall 2007 semester.

Those considering participation in the event are invited to attend an informational/ registration meeting on April 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the Rowe Intermediate School Cafeteria.

Each contestant will be asked to select a young man, also a resident of JISD, to escort her to various events leading up to the pageant, and also serve as her escort during the pageant.
