Talent, dinner offered at JHS Friday

Jasper High School is offering a night out, dinner and entertainment, this Friday, March 30, according to JHS marketing teacher Martha Morian.

Supper is available in the JHS cafeteria from 5 - 6:30 p.m.; chicken spaghetti, breadstick, salad and drink for $5, dine in or carry out. AT 7 p.m. the curtain rises on the JHS Talent Show to benefit the junior-senior prom.

At rehearsals last Saturday, organizers Anne Smith and Kim Moore trying to categorize acts that include singers, dancers, musicians and a few things that defy description. The only rules staff and students were advised to follow are no profanity, vulgarity or inappropriate behaviors, and a five-minute time limit per act.

JISD students will compete for bronze, silver and gold awards. A panel of five judges will consider students' originality, entertainment value and presentation.

The "JISD other" category is reserved for faculty and staff from any JISD campus and will receive a People's Choice Award voted by cash donations from the audience. Morian said they have designed a special signature trophy to be passed year to year to the winner's department or JISD campus.
