The Jasper Bulldog soccer team picked up their first district win, beating Hudson 2-0 in one of three games played in five days over Spring Break. Senior Jose Navarro and Drew Hall scored the goals.

"We played very well defensively," coach Troy Carpenter said. "We had several more opportunities to score, but were unable to capitalize on them."

They played another close game with Livingston before finally losing 3-2. The 'Dogs scored first on a kick by Guerillmo Hernandez from about 25 yards out. The score was tied 1-1 at the half, but in the second period, Livingston came back with two more goals before Jasper's final good kick by Navarro with only five minutes left in the game.

In the season's closing contest, Jasper fell 10-0 to Nacogdoches.

"I'm proud of the way our team played till the end of the season, and that we were finally able to get a win in district," Carpenter said. "We're going to miss our two seniors, Jeff Parker and Jose Navarro, but we look forward to those returning players and a different outcome next year."
