Jim and Mae Brown of Flint, MI., announce the engagement of their daughter. Rebecca Lynne Brown of Austin, to Art Achariyakosol of Austin.

The groom-elect's parents are Veronica Schuler and Dr. Archana Achariyakosol, both of Jasper. He is the grandson of Frances Lawrence of Jasper and the late John Edward Lawrence.

The wedding is set for May 19 at 2 p.m. in St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Austin.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Kettering University and received an MBA from the University of Michigan in 2000. She is a services senior manager at Dell.

The groom elect graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 1994 and is a product engineer at Dell.
