Kirbyville gears up for Magnolia Fest The 22nd annual Magnolia Festival in Kirbyville kicks off with the Wagner Carnival beginning Wednesday, April 18, from 6-10 p.m. Entertainment begins Thursday night, April 19, at 7 p.m. with Shon Branham, country music artist from Bridge City who recently released his fourth CD, "Clearly Country." Drawings will be held each hour for prizes donated by local businesses beginning at noon on Friday, April 20. The "Mudcats," Kirbyville High School faculty members, will perform oldies Friday night at 7 p.m. The Magnolia Festival parade is Saturday, April 21, beginning on MLK and proceeding down U.S. Highway 96 to Magnolia Park. Retired Jasper County Judge Joe Folk will lead the parade. Opening ceremonies begin at noon, followed by entertainment from 12:30 -5:00.
