Keep Jasper Beautiful leads Trash Off rally

Volunteers will gather Saturday, April 14, at the gazebo on the courthouse square in Jasper at 9 a.m. for the first official cleanup in The Great American Trash Off.

The rally will be at 3:00 p.m. Patty Shaw, coordinator of the Keep Jasper Beautiful Program and Shari Gunter, assistant coordinator, will be there handing out trash bags and sticks.

The Great American Trash Off runs April 14 through May 1. During that time Shaw and Gunter will be presenting educational programs at several schools in Jasper County.

At the Magnolia Festival in Kirbyville April 21 there will be a Keep Jasper Beautiful booth. More information about Keep America Beautiful, handouts and coloring books for children will be available at that time.
