Tommy Smith

Tommy Smith, 69, died on April 2 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral services were held April 5 at Magnolia Springs Cemetery under the direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home of Jasper.

Survivors include his wife Sheila Smith of Jasper; sons Thomas Smith Jr. and Monte Smith, both of Vidor; daughter Lisa Olds of Jasper; brothers Johnny Henry of Jasper and Ronny Smith of Magnolia Springs; sister Angie Howland of South Texas; and 10 grandchildren.

G.C. Johnson

G.C. Johnson, 86, died April 3 at Tyler County Hospital in Woodville. Funeral services were held April 6 at the First United Methodist Church in Jasper under the direction of Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper with burial at Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville.

Survivors include his wife Inez Harris Johnson of Jasper; sons Jimmie Johnson of Melbourne, FL., and Ken R. Johnson of Lufkin; brothers W.D. Johnson of Wise, John L. Johnson of Abilene, and Doyle E. Johnson of Galveston; sister Francis Ruiz of Houston; two grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.

Lynn Rogers

Lynn Rogers, 70, of Beaumont, died April 6 at Christus St. elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral services were held April 10 at Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper with burial at Mattox Cemetery in Newton County.

Survivors include her husband Mattox Rogers of Beaumont; sons Thomas W. Rogers of Sealy and Todd Rogers of Beaumont; daughter Jana Rogers Carmichael of Katy; brothers Clyde, Huey, James and David Bolton, Billy Mullins and Buddy Chamberlin; sisters Clara Adams and Alma Coburn; and five grandchildren.

Roberta Martin

Roberta Martin, 98, of Pineland, died April 9 at Timberlake Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral services were held April 11 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Martin Cemetery in Pineland.

Survivors include daughters Patricia Wanda Martin Mott of Milam, Annette Martin Gloor and Francis Angelo Martin, both of Jasper; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
