One-act play team going to state contest

The Jasper High School One-Act Play team will advance to the state 3A UIL contest in Austin May 3-5, according to theater arts teacher and director Kim Hines.

They won district competition in Silsbee, area competition at Angelina in Lufkin, and last week won regional at Blinn in Brenham.

The cast and crew of Pippin are in the top two advancing positions, along with Palestine.

At Brenham, the cast added to their growing collection of medals with Clay Mitchell winning best actor, Marcie Ratcliff and David Cleveland-Hadley winning all-star cast, and Rachel Vickers, honorable mention.
