Griffin shows ability with photo studies

Jasper High School senior Collier Griffin recently won second place in Medical Photography at the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) state leadership conference in Galveston. The award qualified Griffin for the National Leadership Conference at Disneyworld in Florida this summer.

"I hope that my going to nationals will show underclassman that they can pursue their dreams and it is possible to achieve what you want," said Griffin.

Griffin's photographs, which showed her ability to edit and enhance the images, captured three health professional in the midst of their work. Griffin's photography included local dentist Dr. Eric Koch, Deb Hunt, R.N. and Cherrie Woodard. Her competition also included oral presentations with questions from the judges.

Griffin will graduate in May and plans to attend, University of Texas at Tyler, where she will pursue a career in the medical field.

She is the daughter of Ky and Rhonda Griffin.
