Extension office to hold herbicide class Producers and landowners search for herbicide products that are efficient when it comes to killing weeds and brush. These products require a Private Applicators License to purchase them. They require knowledge of how to use them and how to be environmentally safe handling them. The private applicator training will be held May 24 at the county extension office in Jasper (courthouse annex building, second floor). The cost of the program is $10. Call the Jasper extension office to RSVP at 384- 3721. The program will begin with registration at 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon and the training will begin at 1:30 p.m. The test will be taken from 4 - 5 p.m. Once this course is completed and results are mailed to the Texas Department of Agriculture, the private applicators license will be mailed out and the license will be good for five years. The license can be renewed in five years without retaking the test; with 15 hours of continuing education credits within the five year period. |
