Charlene Hancock

Charlene Hancock, 68, of Wiergate died April 15 at U.T.M.B. in Galveston. Funeral services were held April 20 at the Burkeville Baptist Church in Burkeville. Burial followed at Mattox Survey Cemetery under the direction of Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.

Survivors include her son Charles Dickerson Jr. of Lumberton; daughter Vicki Worry of Wiergate; brother Freeman Hancock of Jasper; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

John I. Puryear

John I. Puryear, 87, of San Augustine died April 18 at his home. Funeral services were held April 20 at Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont.

Survivors include his wife Marie Harper Puryear of Bronson; sons D. Mike Puryear of Houston and Rodney L. Puryear of Tenaha; brother Jack M. Puryear of Austin; sister Elsie Puryear Watson of Kerrville; and two grandchildren.
