By GEORGIA PURDY Newsboy Correspondent

The Jasper Lady Bulldog softball team finished their season Friday night with a 5- 0 loss to Silsbee, giving them a 6-7 district finish.

"We played a good defensive game," coach Nancy Walker said. "We didn't do much offensively."

Shelby Griffin pitched a complete game for the Lady 'Dogs. Silsbee had six hits; Jasper, two.

Laura Fincannon and Lizzy White both had singles.

"Shelby did a good job pitching and our outfield did well," Walker said. "Abby Dickerson and Stormie Shivers did a good job in the outfield."

Walker said that with the loss of five seniors, next year will be tough.

"We will have a young team and will have to build," she said. "We will have five important holes to fill."
