JISD shuffles principals at three schools

The Jasper Independent School District announced changes at three campuses.

Victor Williams has been named the principal at Rowe Intermediate and Gwen Gilford is serving as interim principal at Jasper High School.

Dr. Dean Miller, formerly at the high school, has been transferred to Few Primary as an assistant principal.

JISD Superintendent Bill "Butch" Dean said former Rowe principal Sherida Barnes "has requested a couple days of administrative leave and that is where it stands with her right now."

All of the changes were effective Monday, April 30.

"It's been a long day but everybody seems to be happy," Dean said. "We just felt it was in the best interest of the district and the students to make these changes."
