Queen's Contest
Reigning Royalty The 2006 Jasper Lions Club Rodeo Queen is Kelsey Bohlen of Hondo. She is the daughter of Alan and Linda Bohlen. Kelsey is a high school junior, and enjoys participating in FFA, BPA, UIL, and horse judging on her 4-H team. She is a National Honor Society member and plans to attend Texas A&M University after graduation in 2008. Barrel, Poles, and breakaway are Kelsey's favorite rodeo events. She has won numerous awards throughtout the 11 years she's been going down the rodeo trails of Texas. She is a member of the Texas High School Rodeo Association and currently the organization's queen. As Miss THSRA, Kelsey has traveled across the United States representing this great state and the sport she loves. Kelsey also belongs to the Texas Youth Rodeo Association and the National Barrel Horse Association. She hopes to continue a successful rodeo and queen career throughout college. Miranda Allen is the 13- year-old daughter of Mark and Melinda Allen of Colmesneil and reigning duchess. She is an eighth grader at Colmesneil Middle School and is a varsity cheerleader, a member of the volleyball, basketball, and track team. She is an Honor Roll student and the President of the Jr. High Teens for Christ.
Alana Chyenne Jamison is the 10-year-old daughter of JV & Jamie Jamison of Shelbyville & Robyn Hill of Hemphill and is the reigning princess. Alana is a fifth grader at Shelbyville Elementary. Alana is a member of the Ephesus Baptist Church, Shelbyville Softball League & the Shelby County Mounted Drill Team. Alana has numerous rodeo titles to her credit including 01 SCSP sweetheart, 04 LCSP Princess, 04 San Augustine Princess, 05 Rusk Co. Duchess, 06 Jasper County Lions Club Princess. Alana enjoys riding horses, softball, & being with friends. Alana hopes to attend Texas A&M to study animal science. Hannah Grace Jamison is the five-year old daughter of JV and Jamie Jamison of Shelbyville. Hannah is in Kindergarten at Shelbyville. Elementary. She is a member of Ephesus Baptist Church and Teresa Tumblers. the Shelby County Mounted Drill Team & the Shelbyville Softball League. Hannah's rodeo titles include 05 SCSP Sweetheart, 05 BBC 1st runner up, 06 Jasper Lions Club Sweetheart, 06 LCSP princess & 06 SCSP Princess. Hannah loves riding horses, swimming and playing with her friends and animals.
CONTESTANTS Jaime Horn Jaime Horn is the 19-year- old daughter of Raymond Horn and Marsh Horn, both of Jasper. She is a sophomore at Lamar University, majoring in communications. Horn is the 2007 Buna Bridle Club rodeo queen, 2006 San Augustine rodeo queen, 2004 Orange County rodeo queen and 2004 Shelby County rodeo queen. She is a member of AQHAand was a member of the Texas High School Rodeo Association for three years and president of her high school rodeo team. Rachel Marie Odem
She attends Memorial High School, where she is taking dual credit classes. She is an honor roll student and a member of the Texas High School Rodeo Association. Odem is the 2007 Shelby County Sheriff Posse rodeo queen, 2007 THSRA Region 6 queen and she has several awards in Victoria livestock shows and many other queen titles. Danielle Kemp Danielle Kemp is the 16- year-old daughter of Gail and Bret Kemp or Kirbyville. She attends First Baptist Academy and is an honor roll student. Kemp is a member of the Texas High School Rodeo Association, where she competes in barrels, poles and goat tying and is currently the Region 5 queen. She also hold titles as the 2006 Liberty Sheriff's Posse queen, 2007 first runner-up in the Buna Redbud queen's contest, and is three-time horsemanship winner. Lauren Graham Lauren Graham will be competing for queen of this year's rodeo. Her biography is currently unavailable.
CONTESTANTS Hallie Smith Hallie Smith is the 13- year-old daughter of Wendi and Chuck Smith of Lufkin. She a seventh grader at Diboll Junior High School. She is the 2007 Woodville Sweetheart, first runner up at Miss Rodeo Texas Princess, horsemanship winner and 2006-2007 Junior High State Qualifier. Wendi Doyle Wendi Doyle is the 15- year-old daughter of Geri and Clyde Doyle. She attends Dequincy High School. Her hobbies include riding and training horses, rodeoing and reading. She is a member of FFA and 4H. Doyle is the 2007 Deridder Lions Club Queen, 2006 Region 5 NLBRA Senior Girl Trail Course Reserve champion and 2005 Region 5 NLBRA Rookie of the Year. Michelle Lasater Michelle Lasater is the 14- year-old daughter of Brandt and Beky Lasater of Hull. Laster attends Hardin High School. Her hobbies include competing in horse shows, team penning and youth rodeos. Lasater's awards include 2004 Tyler County Dogwood Festival first runner up and horsemanship award, L.C.S.P. rodeo second runner up San Augustine Chamber of Commerce Rodeo Junior Princess.
Shalee Breann Chambliss is the 13-year-old daughter of Wimberlee and Jimmy Chambliss. She attends Vidor Junior High School where she is FFA secretary, nurse assistant, on the UIL team and advanced art, National Honor Society and received an art achievement award. She enjoys swimming, fishing, drawing, four wheeler riding, all rodeo events and queening. Chambliss' awards are 2002 SCSP Rodeo Princess and horsemanship award winner, 2003 OCSP Rodeo Sweetheart, 2004 Liberty Rodeo Princess and 2006 Liberty Rodeo Duchess. Shelby Kadrovich Shelby Kadrovich is the 15-year-old daughter of Chris and Anita Kadrovich of Pitkin, Louisiana. She attends Pitkin High School where she is a member of the High School Rodeo Team, softball, track and 4H member. She also enjoys hunting with her dad. Kadrovich is the Leesville Lions Club first runner up, Leesville Lions Club Judges Award, 2007 Amicus Club Rodeo Princess and 6-B District Softball Champs for 06 and 07.
Codi Danielle Cowdin is the 15-year-old daughter of Eugene and Inee Cowdin of Grand Cane, Louisiana. She attends Logansport High School. Cowdin is a cheerleader, on the basketball team, Texas High School Rodeo Association, 4H, Students Against Drunk Driving, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and National Honor Society. Her hobbies include involvement in her church youth group, swimming, riding four wheelers, singing, riding horses and spending time with her family and friends. Cowdin is the RRYA Breakaway champion and goat tying champion, academic excellence in English one and two and first place science fair winner. Karla Andrus Karla Andrus is the 14- year-old daughter of Leonard and Oleta Andrus. Andrus attends Hardin Junior High School. Her hobbies include competing on her horse and playing volleyball in athletics. Andrus was Miss Congeniality at San Augustine Chamber of Commerce Rodeo 2006.
CONTESTANTS Kaidee Squibb Kaidee Squibb is the 11- year-old daughter of Shelly and Chris Prichard. She is in the fourth grade at Highlands Elementary. Squibb has received awards in perfect attendance, honor roll and won the best smile award for the fourth grade. Her hobbies include barrel racing, pole bending, and break-away roping. She enjoys playing baseball, swimming and scrap booking with her mom. Squibb is a member of her father's money rodeo gear team, as well as the NBHA and World Barrel Productions. Squibb is the 2005 Liberty County Sheriffs Posse Rodeo first runner up and horsemanship winner, the 2006 Jasper Lions Club Rodeo horsemanship winner and is the 2007 Buna Bridel Club Sweetheart and photogenic winner. Brook Bohlen Brook Bohlen is the 11- year-old daughter of Alan and Linda Bohlen of Hondo. She attends McDowell Middle School where she is involved in Project Challenge Program, UIL writing, poetry and social studies, the D.A.R.E. program and the Accelerated Reading 200 Point Club.
Bohlen has placed in several UIL competitions, been on A Honor Roll for six years, been a student of the year candidate, been the Medina County Youth Rodeo Association Junior All Around champion, first place team district 10 4H horse judging, had the Grand Champion Meat Goat as well as many other awards. Macayla Perry Macayla Leigh Perry is the 10-year-old daughter of Eric and Mandy Perry of Timpson. She attends Center Intermediate School where she is an A Honor Roll student. Perry attends Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and is a three-year member of the Rustler Mounted Drill Team, one year Wrangler Drill Team and two-year member of Shelby County 4H. Perry loves to ride her horse Scooter, play on her computer and spend time with her family and friends.
Whitlee Reed Whitlee Annie Reed is the eight-year-old daughter of Allen and Bonny Reed. She attends Center Elementary School and participates in the accelerated reading program. Her interests and hobbies include competing her horse in various horse shows, youth rodeos, playdays, barrel racing, 4H mounted drill team and Queens Contest. She enjoys gymnastics, Mission Friends, choir, hunting and fishing. Reed is the 2006 Shelby County Jr. Sweetheart, horsemanship and Miss Photogenic; she had the honor of representing Shelby County as 2006 Rodeo Mascot. She is also 2006 San Augustine County Jr. Princess first runner up. Katy Curry Katy Curry is the nineyear old daughter of Shawnna and Scott Curry of Dayton. She attends Richter Elementary School. Her hobbies include English and Western pleasure riding, barrel racing and hose judging.
Curry's sponsor is Thompson and Sons. Emily Smith Emily Smith is the daughter of Wendy and Chuck Smith of Lufkin. She is in the third grade at Harmony Christian School. Her hobbies include rodeoing, riding her horse, Harmony Hawk Cheerleader, Pineywoods Youth Association, swimming and catching frogs. Smith has won many awards in rodeo, queens contest and received best young author for the state of Texas 2006. SWEETHEART CONTESTANTS Payton Evans Payton Evans is the seven-year-old daughter of Misty and Roy Evans of Carthage. She attends first grade at the Carthage Primary School. She is a member of the Kilgore Saddle Club and the Real Cowboy Rodeo Association. She enjoys playing fast pitch softball. Evans is the 2006 Miss Rodeo Marshall Princess, 2005 Panola County Rodeo Tiny Tot.
Jackie Lasater is the fiveyear old daughter of Becky and Brandt Lasater of Hull. She likes to ride horses, play on the computer, and play with puppies, kittens and bunnies.
Lasater was the 2005 first runner up for Little Miss TVE Rodeo.
